The "Omotenashi no Kokoro (Spirit of Hospitality) Contest," in which contestants competed in serving tourists, and the "Creative Cooking Contest," using Awaji Island ingredients, were held in Minami-Awaji City on March 25.
Seventy employees and cooks from lodging and tourist facilities on the island showed off the skills they have cultivated through their daily work.

The Awaji Island Tourist Association holds this event every year to enhance the attractiveness of Awaji Island, and it is now in its 18th year.
The theme of the hospitality contest was "Your charm is the charm of Awaji," and 62 people from 16 facilities gathered at the Hotel & Resorts Minami Awaji in the city.
They took a written test on tourism, service industry, and Awaji Island, and a practical test divided into the following categories: merchandising, food and beverage service, guest room attendant (matchmaker), telephone reservation, and lodging.
