Awaji Pufferfish
The Fukura area of Minami-Awaji City is near Naruto Straits, a good fishing ground rich in minerals. The fugu is a brand name pufferfish that takes three years to grow slowly in a good environment, instead of the two years generally required for shipment. The meat of the blowfish is larger and thicker than that of the average blowfish, and its texture and flavor are very pleasant to the palate.

Finish off the meal with a bowl of creamy and elegant zosui (rice porridge).
