Awaji beef, which is of excellent meat quality, is made into steaks to bring out the original sweetness and flavor of the meat. The sauce is a special onion sauce made by slowly frying Awaji Island onions and using the sweetness of the vegetables to go well with steak, fluffy white rice, and hittomabushi. When served with rice, the sweet "fat" of the Awaji beef, the "umami" of the soy sauce in the onion sauce, and the mild "sugar" of the rice blend together in a well-balanced manner for a delicious meal.
